Museum Without Walls

The Museum Without Walls reimagines education, conservation, and culture as immersive, mobile, and nature-connected. Rooted in the sweeping prairies of North Dakota and surrounded by bison, this innovative approach transforms the Bison Center’s land, programs, and partnerships into living exhibits—no velvet ropes, just real-life wonder.

Why the Museum Without Walls Matters
We want to remove barriers to access and deepen the public’s understanding of bison conservation, prairie ecosystems, and rural life.

This approach will expand our reach locally, nationally, and even internationally.

Our exhibits and content will be more rapidly adaptable to seasonal needs and community interests.

It aligns with our mission to raise awareness of the North American bison and advocate for sustainable population restoration.

We know that the more people we can introduce to the North American bison, the more people that will love them. People support what they care about. We’re looking to create a whole new generation of bison enthusiasts and stewards, and the Museum Without Walls is how we plan to reach them.
