Traveling Trunk Exhibit
Traveling Trunks give both kids and adults in your school or organization a tactile, hands-on way to explore various aspects of bison history, restoration, ranching, historical and present day uses, and biology. Virtually any topic related to the North American bison can be a trunk. Traveling trunks include options for both activities and lectures.
Some examples include:
Bison Byproducts Then & Now
• The ways Native Americans used bison and the way we use bison today
Bison Anatomy
Created by our first guest curator Fayelynn Scheideman, this trunk teaches about bison anatomy and shows us how bison survive in the wild and why they’re important to the land.
Each trunk contains:
• Objects (bones, photos, hides, horns, artifacts, etc.)
• Object Labels
• Curriculum
• Activities
